Youth will explore the goodness of God's creation, how sin and evil entered the world and God's redemptive plan which centered in the person and work of Christ and the establishment of the Church.
Service Opportunities Form was due today, Thursday, October 11th. Please place in an envelope marked Faith Formation and place in the weekend collection. Thank You.
What is "salvation history"?
How is your family like the Trinity?
October 4th Tonight's session is "What makes me happy?" Discovering God as the Source. Our confirmation candidates are on a search for identity and significance. They continue to look to you, their parents for guidance although the influence of their peers is increasing. This teens are sensitive to inconsistency and hypocrisy It is important for them to identify authentic models of faith, such as their selected sponsor.
Service Opportunities Form is due next Thursday, October 11th.
Discussion Ideas: Who is the happiest person you know?
Why do you think they are so happy?
Is it possible to know God personally?
Have you ever felt close to God? Share this occasion with your child.
September 27th Youth met in their groups with their mentors. Our Catechists (mentors) are Pete Cromwell, Jesse Saltarelli, Sarah Saltarelli and Lauren Susz. Learn more about them here. Tonight the
groups watched the Chosen video on Why am I here? An Introduction to Chosen. Most youth are here to receive the final Sacrament of Initiation, the Sacrament of Confirmation This journey has everything to do with finding the meaninf of life and learning how to live it to its fullest. An important part of this transformation is for our youth to recognize the community aspect of Christian life.
Discussion Ideas: What does being chosen have to do with Confirmation?
What personal goals did you come up? As a parent, what were your goals when you were in 10th grade or what are your personal goals now? Share them with your child. Ask what challenge they were to do for the week.
September 20th The Life teen Core Team met with the 10th graders to do community builders and icebreakers. We have youth from 7 different schools in our program. It is important that they know one another. The last week of each month the Life Teen Core Team will be doing an instructional lesson with the whole class.
