Vocation Awareness Contest
for Religious Education Youth
Kindergarten through 8th grade
The Purpose of the vocation contest is to increase an Awareness and Appreciation of church vocations-with emphasis upon answering God's call to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life.
"Pray to Mary, Mother of Vocations for Guidance with your Own Vocation"
Contestants are asked to express. through poster, prayer, or symbol (design) how our Blessed Mother helps us to know how God calls us to use our gifts and talents to serve God and one another.
Please submit entries to the
Faith Formation Office by March 1st, 2019.
One entry from each category will be entered into the Diocesan contest. The Diocese will award a plaque to the first place winner at each grade level.
on the early years f school, students begin to discover their unique talents (ie. school work, sports, music, dance) Youth are to make a poster showing them doing what they do best with Mary, Mother of Vocations helping them with it. The drawing should be on 8.5" x 11" paper. Crayons, markers, pencils, water colors and computer imaging may be used.
Write a prayer to Mary, Mother of Vocations asking her to help you learn more about the gifts and talents that God has given you, and asking her what vocation/career might be for you. The prayer should be approximately 25-50 words in lengthy. Prayers must be ty[ed or printed neatly on 8.5" x 11" paper.
Create a symbol or image with a rief ation that somehow expresses either your gifts and talents or a possible career aspiration and how prayers to Mary, Mother of Vocations help you to better understand what God wants you to do with your life.
