The Liturgical YearThe liturgical year is the calendar for our Catholic church.
The green section represents ordinary time. Advent begins on Sunday, December 3rd and lasts until Christmas Day and is represented by the color purple. Christmas lasts 12 days until Epiphany, January 6th. We then enter ordinary time again. On Ash Wednesday, February 14th we begin our journey of Lent which lasts 40 days. The Easter Triduum is from Holy Thursday March 29th , Good Friday March 30th, Holy Saturday March 31st and concluding on Easter Sunday, April 1st The Easter Season lasts for 50 days ending on Pentecost, Sunday, May 19th.
