Formation of our faith is a life long journey. At Baptism, parents, godparents and our parish family promise to raise the child in our Catholic Faith. Parents are the primary teachers of the faith to their children. Our Faith Formation Office provides options to support parents in their roles and foster opportunities for growth in formation.
Weekly Group Instruction
Weekly sessions are led by volunteer catechists from September through May on either Monday ( K through 6th) at 3:45 to 5 pm or Saturday (K through 8) from 9 to 10:30 am and Thursday evenings for grades 9 and 10 from 7 to 8:30 pm.
Children with Disabilities
God welcomes all children and we at our parish welcome all children to participate in our faith formation program. We work towards inclusion for all. Recognizing that there are children who may need alternative methods and settings for learning, we offer sessions
on Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:15 am. These groups are smaller, shorter in time and offer more sensory activities. Parents are welcome to accompany their child until they become oriented with the volunteers and the routine of the sessions. This year we are offering a group for younger (5-10 years old) and older children ( 11 and up). We will work with parents to prepare children to receive the Sacraments.
Family Faith Formation (previously Home Study)
This form of catechesis is an option for children in First through Eighth grade and is the most enriching for parents and their children. It requires discipline and is most effective when there is consistently scheduled weekly time for the child and adult to complete the lesson. At least one parent/ guardian is to attend an information session in the fall.
The Edge Grades 7-8
This Youth Ministry program is an option for the Faith Formation needs of our teens in grades 7 and 8. Weekly attendance is necessary to receive faith formation credit. The program is held on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm.
